What Cabot homes need from a painter

Cabot is one of the youngest cities we serve. About half its homes were built in 2000 or later, and only about 4% before 1970 (U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey). Many families here are in their first house, often with builder-grade paint, a wood privacy fence and a deck or patio that are now ten to twenty years old.

That timing matters. Builder flat paint scuffs and won't scrub clean, stained cabinets wear at the edges, and the first exterior repaint of trim, soffits and doors is usually due around the 10 to 15 year mark. Fences and decks that were never stained have often gone gray. Many subdivisions have covenants, so check exterior color and fence rules before you choose.

Cabot sits on open, rolling land northeast of Little Rock, so homes take a lot of direct sun and wind-driven rain. South and west walls fade first, and fences gray fastest on open runs. We plan exterior and staining work for spring and fall.

Painting calendar

When to plan each project in Cabot

Paint and stain need the right temperature and dry surfaces to cure. Here is how the year usually breaks down in Central Arkansas.

Jan – Mar

Interiors and cabinets

Cold, wet months are ideal for indoor work and kitchen refreshes.

Apr – May

Prime exterior window

Mild temperatures. We wait out the pine pollen and wash before painting.

Jun – Aug

Early-start exteriors

We start early and follow the shade to keep paint off hot, sunny walls.

Sep – Oct

Exteriors and staining

Drier, cooler days. A favorite time for decks and fences.

Nov – Dec

Holiday-ready interiors

Fresh rooms before guests arrive. Book early in the fall.

We used Revive Paint LLC to paint the inside of our house. We couldn't be more pleased with them. Very hard-working, dependable, and excellent paint job. They were very careful with our floors and furniture and followed up and inspected after the job was done. Highly recommend this company.

Do you really come out to Cabot?

Yes. Cabot and the rest of Lonoke County are part of our regular service area, and estimates are free.

My Cabot home is about 15 years old. What usually needs painting first?

Most often: exterior trim, soffits, fascia and doors, plus interior walls with builder flat paint and stained cabinets showing wear. Fences and decks that were never sealed are usually ready for stain too.

Do Cabot subdivisions have color rules?

Many Cabot subdivisions have covenants that regulate exterior colors and fences. Check your covenants or ask your POA before you choose, and we can give you color names and samples.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Revive Paint holds an Arkansas Residential Home Improvement License (#0478560127), which covers painting, cabinets, concrete and special coatings, and we carry general liability insurance. Arkansas requires a license for residential home improvement jobs over $2,000, so it's worth asking any painter you're considering.
