Exterior Painting in Conway

Exterior painting for Conway homes: what to know

Close to half of Conway's homes were built in 2000 or later, so many exteriors here are brick or fiber cement with painted trim on their first or second repaint. Around Hendrix College and in the Robinson Historic District, older homes have wood siding, porches and original trim that need careful scraping and priming. Conway's Historic District Commission considers painting previously unpainted brick in the Robinson district inappropriate, so we plan those exteriors around the brick, not over it.

Weather sets the schedule. Depending on the product, exterior paint needs air and surface temperatures above roughly 35 to 50°F, and it has to stay above the dew point while it cures, or moisture can leave streaks and a soft film. Central Arkansas gets about 50 inches of rain a year, most of it from March to May, plus a coat of yellow pine pollen every spring. We watch the forecast, start late on dewy mornings, follow the shade on hot afternoons, and wash every surface before we paint.

You'll know the scope before we start: what we're coating, how we'll prep it and what it will cost.

Planning tip for Conway

If your home is in the Robinson Historic District, plan exterior work around existing brick and check with the city before changing any masonry. Trim, doors and previously painted wood are usually easier.

Our process

How we handle exterior painting in Conway, step by step

  1. 1

    Free on-site estimate

We walk the house with you, check the siding, trim and caulk, talk through colors and sheen, and put the full scope in writing.

  2. 2

    Wash and protect

Siding and trim are washed to remove dirt, pollen and mildew. Plants, walkways, lights and hardware are covered or masked.

  3. 3

    Scrape, repair and prime

Loose paint is scraped and sanded smooth, gaps are caulked, bare wood is primed, and we point out any soft or rotted wood before painting over it.

  4. 4

    Apply the finish coats

Body, trim, doors and shutters are painted in the order that keeps lines crisp, timed to the temperature and dew point.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough and cleanup

We walk the house with you, handle touch-ups, pull the masking, and haul away our mess.

Cost

Exterior Painting cost in Conway, AR (2026)

Exterior painting costs depend mostly on the size of the house, how much prep the surfaces need, and how much trim there is.

National cost guides put the average exterior repaint at about $3,178, with most projects between $600 and $7,700, or roughly $1.50 to $4 per square foot of paintable surface (Angi, 2026). Those are national figures. Your Revive Paint estimate is free, in writing, and based on your actual Conway home.

In Conway, newer brick and fiber-cement homes usually need trim-focused repaints, while older homes near Hendrix need more scraping and priming. That prep difference is the main price driver.

What affects your price

  • Size of the home and number of stories
  • Siding type and how much scraping and repair it needs

Revive Paint did a wonderful job. They said it would be 3 to 4 days, and it was no more than 3. The crew was super, and Tony was exceptionally paying attention to details. We highly recommend these guys. Thank you for a job well done.

Exterior Painting FAQ

Exterior Painting questions from Conway homeowners

Don't see your question? Call us and we'll answer it.

Call 501-476-2706
How long does it take to paint a house exterior?

Most homes take a few working days, depending on size, prep and weather. Your estimate includes a schedule, and we'll tell you right away if rain or heat moves it.

What temperature is too cold or too hot to paint outside?

It depends on the product. Most exterior paints need air and surface temperatures above roughly 35 to 50°F and have to stay above the dew point while they cure. On hot days we avoid painting walls in direct sun.

Can you paint brick?

Previously painted brick can be repainted after cleaning and repairs. Unpainted brick needs breathable, masonry-rated products and a frank talk first, because once brick is painted it's very hard to undo, and some historic districts don't allow it.

Do I need to be home while you paint?

No. We'll need access to the outside of the house and to an outdoor water spigot and power outlet.

Are there paint rules in Conway?

In the Robinson Historic District, Conway's Historic District Commission considers painting previously unpainted brick inappropriate. Inside the Old Conway Design Overlay, paint colors aren't regulated. Many newer subdivisions have POA rules, so check your covenants before you choose exterior colors.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Revive Paint holds an Arkansas Residential Home Improvement License (#0478560127), which covers painting, cabinets, concrete and special coatings, and we carry general liability insurance on every job.
